Before I even begin to brag about the amazing women and role model Rowan is I have to start by saying that this girl is 14. She's younger than my little sister. If she was a normal child, she would be a freshman in high school.

Rowan Blanchard is known for her role on the Disney series “Girl Meets World,” which is the spin off for one of my all time fav show “Boy Meets World.” This show started when she was 12, and she has been in the spotlight ever since. Not only is she an outspoken feminist on social media and in real life, she is an outspoken human rights and gun violence activist. Most of this is done on her twitter or her tumblr but she has also spoken at the UN Women and US National Committee's annual conference as apart of the #TeamHeForShe feminist campaign. Rowan is constantly voicing her opinion on current events like the #BlackLivesMatter movement and the importance of education to women. She constantly updates her followers on books she is reading that inspire her and educate her. She does all of that AND acts AND has become a fashion icon due to her eccentric and eclectic looks that she totally rocks. But don’t you forget, SHE IS ONLY 14!

Rowan knows the power of social media and realizes her influence. She speaks up when something is important to her. She is smart and educated on all the things she talks about, so you know she does her research. She makes sure she uses her voice for good, rather than what some other child stars do and use it in a negative way. Her ability to speak up is what makes her such an inspiring young woman. Rowan is able to reach out to younger girls and do exactly what GRLPWR is all about, educating and empowering.

Rowan is a 14 year old girl who is helping try and change the world that we live in. She is making a splash and being heard. If thats not empowering than I'm not sure what is. But what I know for sure is that I hope my daughter is as educated and as inspired as Rowan is.
