Makeup Brands To Avoid

Unfortunately in 2016, there are still many popular makeup companies that test on animals. As both an animal lover and makeup enthusiast, I've made it my mission to avoid the companies that do so. I've compiled a list of makeup brands that practice animal testing, some of which that may surprise you!
Avon
Maybelliene
Mac
Revlon
Estēe Lauder
Covergirl
Almay
stila
Neutrogena
Clean and Clear
Recently I've been seeing a lot of hype over Mac on Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram, etc. Most of the hype is caused for the high-end makeup aesthetic. In my opinion, there are so many better options and tons of Mac dupes, both drugstore and high-end. Below are a few of my favorite alternatives to some of Mac's popular products.
Mac's Fix Plus seems to be a very popular staple in many beauty guru's collections. However, I actually prefer Urban Decay's All-Nighter Setting Spray or Smashbox's Primer Water to it. A cheaper alternative is Nyx Matte Setting Spray.
Mac is also known for their expensive lipsticks. Key word: expensive. But why spend the money when you can easily get your hands on a cheaper dupe? Nyx Slim Lip Pencils are my absolute favorite, I hardly buy any other brand when it comes to Lip Liners. And the best part? They're only $3.50! I also love Nyx Matte Lip Creams! A ton of new colors were just released as well! They're definitely worth giving a try! However, if you're looking for something longer-lasting, Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipsticks are on the more expensive end, but they're worth it! They're the best liquid lips I've ever tried, plus ABH is a cruelty-free company! Double bonus!
Next time you're looking to test out a new product or want to find out whether a makeup brand is cruelty free, http://features.peta.org/cruelty-free-company-search/index.aspx is a good place to check before purchasing!
