Tasty Tunes

Music is a universal language. Everyone knows music, it doesn't matter who you are, where you are or what you are. There are hundreds of genres and thousands of songs out there. If you can't seem to find that perfect song, here are some of my all time favorite songs/albums/artist! 1. Made In The A.M.- One Direction. If you know me, it is no shock that these lads were put first on my list. They're my favorite band for many personal reasons as well as their music. Their latest album is such a hit, I recommend every human on this earth check it out. Some personal favorites from the album are: Perfect, Hey Angel and Wolves. 2. Days Are Gone- HAIM. If you're looking for a kickass female band, you can't go wrong with Haim. What's even more kickass than being 3 extremely musical girls from the valley? Being 3 musical sisters from the valley. They're some of the nicest people I have ever met, and some of the most talented. I've never seen someone shred on the guitar better than Danielle Haim. Do yourself a favor and download their debut album Days Are Gone. 3. Badlands- Halsey. Her fans are extreme and she may have a tendency of being problematic but her album Badlands was by far of the best albums to come out in 2015. She brings something new and exciting to the table, she's one of the sweetest people I've ever met and there only bright things ahead for her in the future. 4. Ceremonials- Florence and the Machine. To be fair, anything by Florence is a hit so don't limit yourself to just her Ceremonials album. I was lucky enough to see her at a festival last summer, and I've never had an experience that comes close to feeling I had while watching her perform. The only thing I can compare her to is Mother Nature, and that sounds a little crazy. 5. I like it when you sleep for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it- The 1975. This album has yet to hit stores but from the 3 songs we already have from it, the other ones they perform live, and going on their new aesthetic it's safe to say this record will be nothing short of extraordinary. I hold their debut album very close to my heart but nothing quite compares to the feeling I get when I hear The Sound beginning to play. Listen to The Sound and try not to dance, I dare you. 6. Dopamine- BØRNS. This record was so intriguing to me because it wasn't like anything else I was listening to at the time. It felt different, but not uncomfortable and that's what I love most about it. Some of my favorites are Past Lives, American Money and Seeing Stars. 7. Evergreen- Broods. This band is so underrated. The brother/sister duo from New Zealand create some sick beats with beautiful lyrics and I don't know why more people don't listen to them. Go right now. Listen to Broods. Thank me later. 8. The Balcony- Catfish and the Bottlemen. The vibe the album gives off is incredible. I've sat here for 10 minutes trying to accurately describe this band I can't put it into words. They're true to their alternative title, they have lots of guitar, and songs that will make you feel every emotion all at once. 9. Crybaby- Melanie Martinez. I've been following Melanie since she was on The Voice and this album surpasses anything I had expected by miles. The strongest feeling I get while listening to her is nostalgia. How does she take all these childhood toys and memories and relate them to current adult situations? I'll never figure out how she does it but I'll continue to love it. 10. The Fool- Ryn Weaver. What can make or break something for me is lyrics. I often don't care how good the beat is or how much I love the artist, if the lyrics don't make sense to me I won't listen. Ryn's lyrics are all so beautiful and meaningful. Not to mention she's also a full force feminist and full of love and beauty. These are in no particular order and trust me, there are many, MANY more artists I wanted to put on here but I had to cut it down to 10. If you want more bands or artists feel free to tweet me! I'm always open to suggestions also! :) XOXO Erin
